FULL MOON - February 25, 2013 – 3:26 PM EST

FULL MOON - February 25, 2013 – 3:26 PM EST

This month Full Moon falls in the Virgo/Pisces axis.

The sky looks like a battlefield, with on one side, the Moon sextile Saturne and trine Pluto, on the other side Neptune/Sun/Chiron/Mars/Mercury in Pisces and in the middle, a third faction comprising Jupiter sextile Uranus, is battling both.

This is a difficult chart where common sense (Moon/Saturn/Pluto) is confronted with irrationality, illusions, misconceptions, rose-colored lenses (Neptune/Sun/Chiron/Mars/Mercury), blurring a harsh reality while a third faction of powerful entities is  taking advantage of the turmoil (Jupiter/Uranus).

On a personal level, this is a Full Moon which is going to stir up relationships based on misconceptions and illusions, making communication almost impossible. My advice is not to try to get into any kinds of explanations or arguments because it would make things much worse.

On a wider sense, this chart might indicate a problem related to the stock market (Moon in the 2nd  house of earnings versus the stellium in Pisces in the 8th  house of “other people’s money").

As we said before, full Moons are associated with bad human behaviors and this one is no exception, to which we can add irrationality (Pisces).

Happy Full Moon anyway!

NEPTUNE the Dissolver

NEPTUNE the Dissolver
The Piscean Master said: “I came that your joy may be full”

It takes 165 years for Neptune to complete its orbit around the Sun; it stays in each sign for 14 years and therefore it influences a whole generation of humans beings born during that period. This is why its house position is very important, since this is the area where its influence will be felt the most.
Neptune rules the sign of Pisces, is in exile in Virgo, exalted in Cancer and in fall in Capricorn. In the body, it rules the feet.

Neptune belongs to another dimension (the dimension of dreams and psychic phenomena).and does not feel at home in the world of matter. It is inspirational, dreamy, mystical, sensitive, emotional and receptive in nature. On the negative side, it works undercover and undermines one’s world until it collapse like a house of cards, as it creates illusions, deception, fraud and lies. At its worst, it leads to drugs or alcohol addiction as a means to escape reality.

Because of its inspirational nature, Neptune is prominent in the charts of artists (musicians, painters, writers, etc.). Automatic writing is also a Neptunian characteristic, as well as precognition dreams and strong intuitions of things to come. The house placement of Neptune in a chart will determine in which area of one’s life these qualities will appear.

Being a planet of sacrifice, it is also found in the chart of people who devote their life to help others, such as priests, spiritual guides, doctors, nurses, social workers, etc...

Neptune entered the sign of Pisces in February of 2012 and will stay in this sign until  March 2025.  In its own sign, Neptune will give its best (and its worst) during this transit. At its best, it will inspire and awake many souls to higher states of consciousness.  Masterpieces of art will be produced, acts of selflessness will make headlines in the news, charity organizations will flourish and psychic phenomena will appear to the most skeptical among humans.

At its worst, Neptune will create more illusions and deceptions whether from governments or religious institutions, more escapism into drugs and alcohol for those whose vibrations stay very low, and many false prophets will take advantage of vulnerable souls.

2012 was the end of a long 26,000 years cycle and our world is changing day by say, leading to a new Golden Age. Neptune at its best will lead the way by allowing our Higher Self to reveal itself in those of us who are ready for the New Earth.

PISCES, the Dreamer

Design by Lydia Bisanti
PISCES, the Dreamer

All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream (Edgar Allan Poe)

PISCES
Ruled by Neptune and Jupiter
From about February 18 to March 20
Key word: I FEEL
Water sign - Mutable
In the body it rules the feet
The sun enters the sign of Pisces on February 18 and will remain there until March 20. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. Its symbol is two fish tied together, swimming in opposite directions.
Pisces symbolizes that which is unlimited and cannot be measured, the cosmic mysteries that require faith. Closing the cycle of the zodiac, Pisces is the most spiritual of all signs, preparing the soul to retreat from this world.

Self-sacrifice, compassion, extreme sensitivity are some of the qualities of this sign. Hard to understand, Pisces is introspective and needs to be alone to “recharge its batteries”. Pisceans do not feel at home in this world and their need to escape reality is very strong. If used constructively, this can lead to great achievements, such as music, poetry, painting; many artists have strong Piscean or Neptunian influence.   The most compassionate of all signs, Pisces produces individuals who devote themselves to others: priests, spiritual guides, doctors, nurses, hospital and social workers, and people who defend causes such as homelessness or any other cause to help the underdog. Pisces understands sufferance and is prone to tears. This might lead to martyrdom, feeling sorry for oneself and self neglect. The dark side of Pisces produces passivity and cowardness, fraud and betrayal, irresponsibility and escapism into alcohol or drugs, illusions, such as belonging to a pseudo-spiritual cult.
Neptune is now in its own sign of Pisces until 2025 and it will re-enforce the characteristics of the sign, both in the positive and in the negative ways. I will write about its influence in a future post.

NEW MOON IN AQUARIUS - FEBRUARY 10, 2013 – 2:20 AM EST

NEW MOON IN AQUARIUS - FEBRUARY 10, 2013 – 2:20 AM EST
The New Moon in Aquarius occurs Sunday morning, February 10 at 2:20 am EST at 21 degrees. New moons mean a new cycle, new beginnings, and rebirth.

It is a time for starting fresh. You can set your intentions that grow with the lunar light and reach completion at Full Moon. A good idea is to write down these intentions on a piece of paper, being clear and specific about what you want.

Whatever has been absorbing your time and energy is coming to an end to clear the space for something new to begin. You will have the urge to break away from the conventional way to do things in your own unique way, expressing more of your individuality and freedom because the energy of Aquarius wants to innovate and create new means of expression without any barrier.

This New Moon, along with the Sun (also in Aquarius) will highlight the Aquarian qualities of intellect and forward-thinking, as well as friendships, social relationships, and the world at large. Because Aquarius is progressive, you may find yourself wanting to shake things up just a bit, adding a little more excitement to your day-to-day life.

As a general rule, it is a good idea to start something new (such as a new business venture, an acquisition, the signing of a contract, etc.) during a New Moon, giving your project a chance to grow and prosper. The choice of the sign in which the New Moon occurs is also important and should match the nature of your project. (i.e. for a financial venture, the sign of Taurus would be the be the most appropriate, for a real-estate deal the sign of Cancer, etc..).

Happy New Moon!

Days of the week and the planets

Days of the week and the planets

The wise ancient prophets saw that each day of the week is energetically connected to one of the seven observable planets. They recommended certain activities and behavior that corresponded to the influences of the day. This increased the chances of success and harmonious completion.
Depending which day of the week you were born on, you embodied its specific planetary qualities. According to ancient tradition, the day starts with the sunrise and continues till the next one, it does not change at midnight as we are used to calculating it. So if it says on your birth certificate that you were born on Saturday at 4 am, then you should consider yourself a Friday baby, unless the sun has risen already.

Sunday—the Sun (god of life and healing)

Those born on Sunday are graced with positivity, generosity and love of life. This is a day for celebration, creativity, happiness, and success. It is the best time for weddings. Sunday is recommended for initiating new activities and plans and also for health treatments as this is the day of the week when a new cycle of the body’s recuperative powers begins. All creative work should start on Sundays. It is not a good period for isolation or meditation. Any involvement in unmoral and dishonest activities is very negative then

Monday— the Moon (Mother goddess)

Monday is a restless and changeable day. Emotions and whims increase, dreaminess and romantic moods manifest more powerfully. Our imagination is stimulated so it can be a good day for some writers. The Moon in astrology symbolizes the female principle, therefore Monday rules and protects all women. It is considered that girls born on Monday become really good wives and mothers, great family nurturers. Sensitivity is a common trait for people born then.
Monday is a bit emotional and nervous day, but it is great for getting all kinds of house work done. Spending time with your close family and trusted ones where you can let your guard down and be as emotional as you want is advised. Traveling by land is considered unwise as the person can meet a lot of minor frustrations but as the Moon rules water, all aquatic journeys will fare well.

Tuesday—Mars (god of war)
Tuesday is considered an active day with a sharp, explosive character. Warrior, heroes, knights and military people were born on this day. In the past they regarded it as a very tough day. It is observed that this is the time wars and military coups are started. This is a day for initiating action, fighting, drastic changes, and brave endeavors. It is not advised to rest much or stay inactive, you should be starting new projects and getting busy with physical work. Tuesday is not so good for team work or one to one contacts as it creates conflict just like its ruler the planet Mars. Peace and compromise are almost impossible.

Wednesday—Mercury
(the messenger god)

Wednesday is ruled by the planet Mercury which is associated with trade, knowledge and information. The mind gets more active, curious, open to communication and exchange of ideas. People born on Wednesday are usually quite witty and have quick minds suited for business. This day is good for traveling, marketing, trading, networking, business deals, new contacts, administrative and intellectual work. Problems can be solved quietly and without conflicts.

Thursday-Jupiter (king of the gods)

The ancients called Jupiter “the king of the planets”, that is why Thursday became a royal day. People born then attract attention and respect with their optimism and breadth of understanding. They are considered natural leaders, and are found in high positions of society. They used to be chosen for priests and wise men in the old cultures.

This day is for affairs of religion, politics and the higher mind. Thursday is dedicated to solving problems of the law, state and society. It is not a good day for business deals, trading or making new contacts.

Friday—Venus (the goddess of beauty)

Friday is ruled by the goddess of love, beauty and pleasure-Venus. It is believed that people born on this day are bringers of peace, harmony and beauty. They are artists, esthetics, diplomats and sensual pleasure seeker. It is a day when people are in a mood for relaxing and having fun. They also pay more attention to their appearance and beauty treatments are successful. But strangely enough, this day is not auspicious for tying the knot or going on romantic dates. One has to be careful about overindulging on Fridays, as it is easier to succumb to passions of the flesh and lower desires.

Saturday—Saturn (the god of death and time)

This is another critical day, dedicated to honoring the dead. This is when scientists, philosophers, loners and ascetics are born. People who usually have a more serious and responsible attitude to life. It is a day for self-introspection, deep meditation and lonely concentration on the more meaningful aspects of existence. People are a bit more susceptible to sadness and worry. It is a good day for finishing off old business
but not for starting new projects. It is also inauspicious for weddings and long journeys.

ELECTIONAL ASTROLOGY

Electional Astrology

Most people are familiar with Natal charts. This is where an astrologer looks at a chart calculated for the time and place where you were born and can then tell you about your psychology, your spirituality, future life events, good and bad habits that you might have etc.

Horary astrology is also something a good deal of people is interested in. This is when an astrologer looks at a chart for the moment a question is asked, and from that can determine, not only the answer to the question, but also the details of the story surrounding the question.

There is a third type of astrology called Electional astrology.  A good astrologer can determine when to start a project in accordance with the stars and planets, thus maximizing the chance of the desired outcome for the project. Here we have a fourth dimension to our activities, the dimension of timing insuring the capacity and durability of things. It is only the art of astrology which can help accurately give one an advantage in the art of timing. This is the advantage of elections.

WHAT IS MY SIGN?

WHAT IS MY SIGN?

To be a “Pisces” means that the day we were born the Sun was transiting in that sign. However, we might also have strong Piscean traits if any other planet was in this sign the day we were born, even if our Sun was elsewhere.
Because each planet of our chart influences our personality, and we are a combination of  all signs, planets and aspects activated and present in our birth chart, as well as the time and place of our birth. This is why generalizations are misleading and nobody is a pure “Pisces”, or “Aries”, etc... Even twins, born a few minutes apart from each other, are different, because they are two individuals with their unique soul experience. Therefore, we are all unique, and we are going to express ourselves in our unique way. Human beings also enjoy a privilege that no other beings on earth enjoy: that is FREE WILL. This means that we essentially are whom we want to be, and despite the fact that we cannot control every aspect of our destiny, we are fully responsible for ourselves and for the way we respond to life’s challenges.
